This is a view from the Cambie Bridge inVancouver. Dump trucks are unloading earth excavated from our new subway tunnel into a barge that is towed out into Georgia Strait to be dropped into the ocean.

I love this part of the park's trail, with overarching trees.

We went on a hike with the Lindsay's, Judy and Hugh, and David, at Campell River Park. We followed the horse trail, which, if you watch your step, is very pleasant. (David is just behnd Judy.)

For his final cake, Jack was assisted by Meredith, Mary Macallum's daughter. Ros got the cake to share with the parishioners at Christ Church Cathedral during coffee hour. One birthday, three cakes!

Emily is Margery and Jack's first great-grandchild.

Emily is Chris Kellett's daughter, and very sweet. She's not quite a year now (I think).

Another visitor in late July was Emily, with her mother Geneve, here at 1251.

She also got a poster, some stickers, and bookmarks. Here she is in front of the store with her treasures, which she began reading right away.

At midnight on July 21 Ros went to the Book Warehouse bookstore to pick up the two copies of the Harry Potter book 7 that she'd ordered. There was a long line that snaked through the store, and at exactly midnight they began handing out the book.

What Naomi did most of the time was work on her assignments. But she will be near the end of her summer term at the University of Victoria soon and be off till Labour Day.

Ros didn't get a picture of me hitting the ball because most of the time I was far from it!

Nick really loves the game. Naomi says he's a bit addicted to it, which I think is true.

On Saturday we went to see Nick play bicycle polo on a tennis court at a park near Commercial drive. He's in the left foreground. You have to stay on your bicycle and put the ball between two pylons at the end of the court. Ros and I both tried it - it takes a lot of skill.

And the second birthday cake for Grandpa came in

Blair and Andrea came, as well as Russell and Jane.

Then on Friday, July 27, a second party for Grandpa at 1251.

Back at home, Jack had a birthday cake to blow out.

Jack was in very good spirits. The meal was good also.

During the week we had two celebrations for Jack Kellett's 94th birthday. This was on the day, July 25, when we went to a restaurant on the King Edward mall for a supper.

They family showed great interest in Jack's medals, which are in the case he's holding.

Among other things, we enjoyed games at the Grandparents, which David, Jane, and Russell joined us for.

The boys have grown a lot, especially Zach, nearest the camera, who is taller than everyone one, but Tristan has shot up too.

The Llewelyn-Adams family visited us in July. Great to see them. Here's the group shot we took.
