And here I am signing books, hoping to remember names. It was fun. Posted by Picasa

Here is the cake at my book signing today at Christ Church Cathedral. The picture is icing. Randy, I am told, put the beginning and ending dates on the cake. Posted by Picasa

Sort of a sad sight. Female and male salmon who have spawned, guarded the eggs, and died together. Posted by Picasa

Here is the Adams River. You can see the dark shapes of salmon spawning. Posted by Picasa

Russell showed pictures of his trip a couple of weeks ago to Bogata, Columbia, to a "Car-Free" conference. Posted by Picasa

Thanksgiving 2006

We celebrated Thanksgiving at 1251 - Granny and Grandpa's. Guests were Rob Dickson, wife Mary Pat, and son Billy. Russell and Jane were there. Very nice.

And we took pictures of the CPR trains as they rumbled by. This is the main line. Posted by Picasa

We visited the old Catholic church at Knotch Hill by the railway tracks once again. We saw it a couple of years ago. Still a home for pigeons. Posted by Picasa

Friday we spent cycling around Sorrento. We went as far as a couple of wineries near Tappen and back again. Posted by Picasa

Another day we spent the afternoon white water rafting down the Adams River. I was skeptical at first but really enjoyed it. Ros and I are at the back of the raft, ahead of the helmsman/guide. Posted by Picasa

Phil MacIntyre was our leader. Posted by Picasa

Really pretty... worth the climb. Posted by Picasa

One day Ros and I hiked with a group up to the alpine meadows north of Shuswap Lake. Beautiful area and not all that many bugs. Posted by Picasa

They even baked a cake for grandpa. Here he is with Barbara Anderson, the director of Sorrento. Posted by Picasa

We spent a week at Sorrento again this year. Ros' parents were there that week - Jack again celebrated his birthday at this church retreat and educational centre. We took the van and it performed well. David drove the parents up and we drove them back home. Posted by Picasa

You can't help but take lots of pictures in that park. I hope Ros just picked up this flower and didn't pick it! I'm sure that's what happened. Posted by Picasa

Nigel and Cathy visited us in early July, I think. Here we are in Queen Elizabeth Park. Posted by Picasa

Here Michael is blessing Ann Duke and her bicycle. This took place in June during Bike Month in Vancouver. It's a great event. Posted by Picasa

We had a blessing of the bicycles again this year on the steps of Christ Church Cathedral. Here my colleague Paige Dampier speaks to the audience while priests Peter and Michael wait to bless cyclists and their machines. Posted by Picasa

There were a lot of people. Posted by Picasa

Russell's friends Donald (foreground) and Charles were among the many. Posted by Picasa

After the blessing came Critical Mass. Jane Buker said she counted 1700 cyclists. This picture was taken by Ros. Posted by Picasa

Here Michael Batten, rector at St. David's and a cyclist commuter, is blessing Ann Duke's bike. Posted by Picasa

This was our second annual Blessing of the Bicycles and Bicylists on the porch of Christ Church Cathedral. Maybe 30 people came. Here Paige Dampier is speaking. She's a colleague in the Synod Office.

Ros and I and Betty Kosel took Frederick Dancing at the Anza Club. It was African-Caribbean night. Posted by Picasa
