And here's the window that we dedicated. Simeon is holding the baby Jesus (Jack played Simeon in the Cathedral pageant for many years), Anna, and at right are Mary and Joseph. Story is at Luke 2:21-38.

Here we are when the window in memory of Jack Kellett was dedicated at Christ Church Cathedral. In the back are Tom Mercer (with gray beard) who created the window and Peter Elliott. Others: David, Neale, Margery, Russell, Nick; in front, Ros, Jane, Frankie, Finnegann, Naomi. A great day!

Naomi's Birthday 2013

We went to supper at a vegetarian restaurant, Po Kong, then to Nick and Naomi's place for cake. Great fun.

Over the weekend of Sept. 22-23, Ros and I joined a group of her Eric Hamber High School teachers on an overnight cruise from Seattle to Vancouver. We got up at 6 to take the bus to Seattle at 7, got on the boat at about 1 pm, left the dock at 4, and arrived in Vancouver at 6:15 the next morning. Very short but it gave us an idea what cruising was like. I think I prefer more active holidays -- it was like staying in a big hotel or a resort. Not unpleasant but not very exciting. Lots and lot of people.

My artistic grandson, Finnegann at the PNE. In a kid's area, the youngsters were given a chance to paint old cars.

Ros and I took in a bike race in White Rock this afternoon. They do whiz by fast!

The Open Road

Ah, the open road. It was a great trip, a loop from La Pine through the mountains and back. I very much enjoyed five days with my little brother.

The Sisters, Oregon

Oregon was beautiful. Here, from the first day, is a picture of the Three Sisters mountains.

Mike in his cycling shirt

Brother Mike and I went cycling in central Oregon in June. He brought a number of colourful cycling shirts.

Hummingbird appeared on our back porch, sipping nectar. Great to see it.

My dear wife in the centre on strike with fellow teachers last March. The union makes us strong - though the cut in pay for the four days ate into our finances! Oh well...

Naomi (back from Europe) and Russell in the back garden. Good to have both kids around.

Grandson Frankie turned 1 on March 19. He is obviously musically talented.
