The Open Road

Ah, the open road. It was a great trip, a loop from La Pine through the mountains and back. I very much enjoyed five days with my little brother.

The Sisters, Oregon

Oregon was beautiful. Here, from the first day, is a picture of the Three Sisters mountains.

Mike in his cycling shirt

Brother Mike and I went cycling in central Oregon in June. He brought a number of colourful cycling shirts.

Hummingbird appeared on our back porch, sipping nectar. Great to see it.

My dear wife in the centre on strike with fellow teachers last March. The union makes us strong - though the cut in pay for the four days ate into our finances! Oh well...

Naomi (back from Europe) and Russell in the back garden. Good to have both kids around.

Frankie On Tuba

Grandson Frankie turned 1 on March 19. He is obviously musically talented.

Frankie is not sure about this business of standing or walking on his own at 11 months.

Snow for winter 2012

We did have snow this winter and some cold temperatures. Quite bracing. Now (Jan. 21) we're back to normal with absolutely no snow on the ground. Will it return?
