While Marian was in Vancouver we had a musical evening and dinner. Even Russell limbered up the fingers and played the piano a bit. All those lessons produced some result.

Work continues on the subway that will run under Cambie Street, three blocks east of our home. This is at Cambie and roughly 12th Avenue, as Marian Egan and I walked by it, when she was in town. They really dig deep. It's called the "Skytrain" though in Vancouver at least most of it will be underground.

...to go to the shore, we passed through the always fascinating Oak Bay Cemetery.

We walked along the short on a rather cold and stormy day...

N&N do seem to be compatible.

In Victoria we cycled to the museum as well as other places.

Ros and I went to Victoria to visit the Titanic exibition at the Royal BC Museum in September. Nick and Naomi agreed to pose with the billboard outside the museum, albeit somewhat reluctantly. It was an interesting exhibit - lots of plates and stuff taken from the ocean floor, people in costume of the era, etc. It was indeed sad when the great ship went down.

The sky one evening over Douglas Park. I shot this on my way home.

Nigel Kellett visited several times this fall. Here he is with Rosalind. What an agreeable sibling pair!

To catch up a bit, we really enjoyed the 70th birthday party of great friend Conrad Guelke on Sept. 22, complete with a bit of a roast.

Ros wanted some leaves for the Thanksgiving table.

It's been a wet October, so far. Ros and I did get out and walk a bit around Stanley Park a couple of week ago, near the lighthouse.

For the past week we were treated to the visit of Marian Egan, Ros' cousin, from England. We really enjoyed her being with us. While here, she decided to buy a digital camera. I expect her to start a blog from her home in London.

Russell is still working on the garage, to create a studio. I'm not sure why, but he really likes that hat.

Here we are camping, making s'mores around the campfire (chocolate and marshmellow gooey things).

That was after Ros and I went to Kamloops for a BCTF meeting that she attended, and (above) visited Libby and Dave Denbigh in their new home.

To catch up a bit. Ros and I joined Nick and Naomi at the Otter Lake campground in late August. It wasn't far from Coalmont, where this picture was taken. This is an area that once was busy with mining. Very pretty, hilly country.
