She was even able to tell the players which direction to go in - oh, no, this is ruling in favour of the red team... Posted by Picasa

Soon she got the hang of it again, and was enjoying the game. Posted by Picasa

She went out Burnaby for a game... I came, on my bicycle, and took a few pictures. Posted by Picasa

Ros studied the field hockey rules Saturday. She was a bit nervous about being a referee. Posted by Picasa

Russell was at the event all day, helping out. He brought the "love bike" which I sat on while the blessing took place. Afterwards Jane came, and with some other friends we went for supper. Posted by Picasa

The Environmental Task Force of the Diocese of New Westminster sponsored a blessing during Vancouver's Car Free Day on Thursday (Sept. 22). Here the Rev. Peter Fischer is blessing me, or the bicycle, or both (I forget) assisted by Paige Dampier, of the sponsoring group. We didn't attract too many people to this event, but it was fun and I think worthwhile. Posted by Picasa

The newlyweds, Russell and Jane. It was a lovely evening. Posted by Picasa

The sunset from their farm... Posted by Picasa

Andrea (Jane's sister), the family dog, me, and Maria. What was that dog's name? Posted by Picasa

We visited Jane's family, the Buker's, last week. This shot was taken while taking a walk around their property in Rosedale, near Chilliwack. They have about 10 acres in the country. I like this shot because it's somewhat surreal, I think. Posted by Picasa

Wedding photos:
Go to the archives (at left) and click on August's postings, then scroll back to see what I posted on this blog.
(If the list of archives doesn't appear, go directly to http://nealeadams.blogspot.com, and they should be at left.)
I put all the pictures Nigel took in album format. Go here.
And Lori Llewellyn, Russell's aunt, has posted some - here.
That should be enough!

All in all a great time. Thanks Bart & Jacquie. Posted by Picasa

We went by bike to and from the island. On the way home of course I had to get a flat. How did Ros catch me smiling? I wasn't feeling that way then... Posted by Picasa

In the forest - this area is a new park that Bart was instrumental in obtaining for the community. Posted by Picasa

A shot in the evening... Posted by Picasa

Gabriola's foundation is sandstone, and one sees formations like this all along many of the shores. I'm not quite certain what makes the holes in the rocks - some combination of chemical and mechanical factors. Posted by Picasa

Gosh, it's a beautiful island in the Gulf of Georgia. This is on the east side of the island. Posted by Picasa

I really enjoyed cycling about the island. Here Ros caught me - she was in the car with Bart, lazy woman... Posted by Picasa

Ros and I really enjoyed our trip to Gabriola and visit with Bart and Jacquie Jessup last weekend. This is Ros and the Jessups after we had dinner at The Surf. Posted by Picasa

And the picture that captures the event is Nigel's shot of the happy couple, heading to the wedding - and many, many years of married life. Posted by Picasa
