Finnigan was quite awake to meet his Great-Grandpa, Jack Kellett. His second name of course is Jack's.

Finnigan's mother and father brought the babe to our home Saturday evening.

Back home, a trio now, before midnight, and a well-deserved sleep.

Making sure all is right with the newest member of the family before setting off.

As did a very tired mother, leaning on her sister, and accompanied by Blair, Andrea's husband, whom you see carrying Elliott, their boy born about six week ago.

The stay in hospital wasn't long. Shortly after 11 pm Finnigan went home.

Ros took this video in low light but you can hear excited voices - and concern about how to take care of Finnigan, while the doctor examines the baby, and sister Andrea Tothill looks on.

As a totally unbiased observer, I thought the kid was a beautiful newborn, which I believe is not always the case.

Mother did so well and didn't seem to be as exhausted as she might have been. Contractions had actually started just before midnight in 2007!

This was, I think, the first picture of the young lad, at the entrance to the delivery room to which Ros and I were admitted. We'd left after Ros drove the couple to the hospital, and not long after got a call that we'd become Grandparents, so we soon returned.

On January 2, though, came the really exciting news. The birth of Russell and Jane's son, Finnigan Jack Buker Adams, 7lb. 1 oz., took place at Women's Hospital in Vancouver (just barely - Jane went in at about 6:30 and delivered within the hour).

And Christmas evening we created a rather dirty snow bear. But it had been a white Christmas.

We did have lights up in front and Ros' reindeer, which Naomi seems to be riding.

Later, Granny and Grandpa came over for another gift opening, before the Christmas feast.

And the Santa's letter was there in the morning. (Enlarge to read.)

The stockings were hung, of course, the night before.

The gift-distributing Santa was this strange woman.

Christmas 07. Russell and Jane stayed with us, and Naomi came over from Victoria. It was a great time.
